Back-to-school season looks a little different in some families.
One daughter is setting off for a two-week Outward-Bound adventure in the Sierra Nevada. Her older sister is packing for a year of missionary work. Their father surveys the backpacks, duffel bags, hiking boots, and travel plans... and quietly wonders if perhaps one of them might simply be making a trip to Target.
This week’s ROOK celebrates that bittersweet moment every parent eventually faces: watching children leave home—not because they’re running away, but because they’re ready for the adventures ahead.
