🌐 Microsoft Edge (Windows)
If you’re using Microsoft Edge, this is the easiest option.
Open any article.
Press:
Ctrl + Shift + UThe browser will begin reading aloud instantly.
You can change voice and speed in the toolbar that appears.
🦊 Mozilla Firefox
Firefox has a built-in Reader Mode with narration.
Press F9 to enter Reader View.
Then press Alt + N to start narration.
You can also click the headphone icon once in Reader View.
🌎 Google Chrome
Chrome does not include built-in read-aloud by default, but you have options:
Option 1 – Install a “Read Aloud” Extension
Search for Read Aloud in the Chrome Web Store.
Once installed, you can click the extension icon to begin listening.
Option 2 – Use Windows Narrator
Press:
Ctrl + Windows + Enter
This works in any browser.
🍎 Safari (Mac)
If you’re using Safari:
Highlight the text you want read aloud.
Press:
Option + Esc
You can also enable more speech controls in:
System Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content
