Something new may be coming to Benedictine College.
The proposed Benedictine College School of Osteopathic Medicine has been granted Candidate Status by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation—a significant step in the process of establishing the new medical school.
The college has already applied for the next step, Pre-Accreditation Status, with hopes of welcoming an inaugural class in 2028. Plans also call for a 110,000-square-foot medical education facility.
That’s genuinely big news for Benedictine—and for Atchison.
