Jake has a simple question.
“Where are you going?”
Dance.
But didn’t Tall Girl just have dance?
That was class.
Now comes rehearsal.
Then she teaches.
Which leaves Jake wondering about one of the less glamorous necessities of college life:
When does she eat?
Fortunately, Tall Girl has five whole minutes.
And a granola bar.
Jake concludes that athletes are weird—which would probably have been safer if a goalkeeper hadn’t been within earshot.
“We heard that.”
Somewhere between classes, rehearsals, practices, teaching, homework and everything else, college students become surprisingly good at fitting life into the spaces marked between.
Even lunch.
♜ ROOK — new every day at noon.
Different adventures. Same journey.
