Most days, Ryan is the guy looking for free pizza, developing questionable “systems,” and occasionally commandeering the microphone at the Little Station.
On Saturdays, things are a little different.
Tomorrow the Ravens are home, and Jake, Sarah and Maggie have come to watch their friend play football.
There is just one problem.
Jake hasn’t quite figured out that “meet us before the game” means something different when you’re actually in the game.
“RYAN!”
Across the field, against all reasonable expectations, Ryan hears him.
He even waves.
Which means, as far as Jake is concerned, the entire operation was a success.
“He saw us.”
“You almost got him killed.”
“But he saw us.”
Sometimes friendship means showing up.
Sometimes it means cheering for your friend.
And sometimes it means knowing when not to yell his name from the stands.
Jake is still working on that one.
