The campus calendar is packed: Polish culture, Romeo & Juliet, open mic night, assignments, practices—and then, suddenly, a visitation for someone who had been part of the ordinary rhythm of campus life.
That is the small realization at the heart of today’s ROOK: some people become part of a place so quietly that you don’t realize how much they mattered until they’re gone.
No sermon. No grand conclusion. Just four students looking at a calendar and realizing that the things that matter most don’t always fit neatly into a bullet point.
ROOK is a daily original college newspaper comic about friendship, faith, growing up, and the odd little places where life becomes meaningful. Set in and around Benedictine College and Atchison, it finds humor in the ordinary absurdities of college life—and occasionally lets something deeper sneak in.
A new ROOK strip appears every day at noon CST.
