Today’s Sunday ROOK takes its inspiration from Matthew 21:28–32 (Douay-Rheims), Jesus’ parable of the two sons.
One refuses his father’s request but later repents and goes. The other politely agrees but never follows through.
Jesus asks a deceptively simple question: Which of the two did his father’s will?
It’s a story about the distance between our words and our actions—and the possibility of changing our minds and doing what is right.
Ryan, meanwhile, has discovered a new category of volunteer work: being emotionally committed.
Unfortunately, the chairs aren’t moving themselves.
