Should We Reopen the House?
There are stories that end.
And there are stories that simply close the door.
Recently, after we revisited A House to Let, a listener wrote that he wished we could follow the characters further — to discover what became of them once the lamps were extinguished and the keys exchanged.
I confess something:
So do I.
The collaboration of Dickens and his formidable companions created more than a mystery. They created a habitation — and certain houses, once entered, do not easily release their guests.
But the question now stands before us plainly:
Should Chesterton Radio attempt a continuation?
Not an imitation. Not a parody.
But a respectful, Victorian-spirited sequel — six installments exploring what happened after the house was finally let.
Before I begin writing such a thing, I would rather ask you.
